- The types of information we may collect or that users (“you”) may provide when you purchase, download, install, register with, access, or use the application Ziing.ai (the “App”) and/or the website Ziing.ai (the “Website”, together with the App, the “Platform”).
- The types of information we collect or that you may provide to us offline.
- Our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
We will only use your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by applicable law. We take steps to ensure that the Personal Information that we collect about you is adequate, relevant, not excessive, and used for limited purposes.
This Privacy Notice applies to information we collect, use or disclose about you offline and on the Platform and in email, text, and other electronic communications sent through or in connection with the Platform.
This Privacy Notice DOES NOT apply to information that:
- we collect on any other mobile applications or websites, including websites you may access through this Platform; and/or
- you provide to or is collected by any third party. Third parties may have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read before providing information on or through them.
Please read this Privacy Notice carefully to understand our policies and practices for collecting, processing, and storing your information. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download, register with, or use the Platform. By downloading, registering with, or using the Platform, you indicate that you understand, accept, and consent to the practices described in this Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice may change from time to time. Your continued use of the Platform after we make changes indicates that you accept and consent to those changes, so please check the Privacy Notice periodically for updates. We will notify you in advance of any material changes to this Privacy Notice and obtain your consent to any new ways that we collect, use, and disclose your Personal Information.
Personal Information
“Personal Information” includes any information about an identifiable individual, which includes information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person.
Collection of Personal Information
ZII may collect the following categories of Personal Information:
- contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number, email address);
- demographic information (e.g., date of birth, gender, marital status);
- sensitive information (e.g., race or ethnic origin, state ID, precise geolocation, and biometric data (e.g. finger prints, voice print, face topography, retina or iris image));
- identity information (e.g. Social insurance number, driver’s license, passport, or other government ID number);
- vehicle information (e.g. vehicle identification number, license plate);
- insurance information (e.g. name, address, vehicle information number and vehicle details);
- work permit information (e.g. name, address, permit number);
- work availability;
- financial account information (e.g. bank account information);
- social network data (e.g., login and usage information for social media accounts);
- technical information, including your login information, device type, time zone setting, and usage details;
- Non-personal details about your Website interactions, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), clickstream to, through and from our Website (including date and time), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, or any phone number used to call our customer service number; and
- Inferences drawn from the personal information listed above, such as user interests and preferences
We may collect Personal Information about you through:
- direct interactions with you or your agent when you provide it to us, for example, by corresponding with us;
- information obtained, both offline and online, about your transactions with ZII, our affiliates, or others;
- information we receive from various stakeholders, both offline and online, including service providers;
- information we receive from consumer reporting agencies and/or governmental entities, either directly from these entities or through others; and
- automated technologies or interactions, when you use the Platform, for example, usage details, IP address and operating system, browser version, language and type, domain name system requests, browsing history on the Platform, such as date and time of your visit to the Platform and visits to the pages within the Platform and information collected through cookies, web beacons, Software Development Kits (SDKs), and other tracking technologies.
Like most Platforms, our servers automatically log each visitor to the Platform and may collect the browsing information described above. We use browsing information for system administration, troubleshooting, fraud investigation, and to improve the Platform. Browsing information generally does not reveal any Personal Information about you, though if you have created a user account for the Platform and are logged into that account, the Platform may be able to link certain browsing activity to your user account.
Information You Provide to Us
When you download, register with, or use this Platform, we may ask you to provide:
- Information by filling in forms in the Platform. This includes information you provide when registering to use the Platform, subscribing to our service, posting material, and requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Platform.
- Records and copies of your correspondence, including email addresses and phone numbers, if you contact us.
- Details of transactions you carry out through the Platform. We may require you to provide financial information before completing a transaction through the Platform.
- Your search queries on the Platform.
You may also provide information for publication or display (“posted”) on public areas of websites you access through the Platform (collectively, “User Content”). You post and transmit User Content to others at your own risk. Although you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile, please be aware that no security measures are perfect. We cannot control the actions of third parties with whom you may choose to share your User Content. Therefore, we do not guarantee that unauthorized persons will not view your User Content.
Whether you submit Personal Information to ZII is entirely up to you. If you decide not to submit Personal Information, ZII may not be able to provide certain services or products to you.
Automatic Information Collection and Tracking Technologies
When you download, access, and use the Platform, it may automatically collect:
- Usage details. When you access and use the Platform, we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the Platform, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the Platform.
- Device information. We may collect information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, mobile network information, and the device’s telephone number.
- Stored information and files. The Platform also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device. This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.
- Precise Geolocation information. The Platform collects real-time information about the precise location of your device.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
- Cookies (or mobile cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your smartphone. It may be possible to refuse to accept mobile cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your smartphone. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Platform. Information gathered using cookies helps us improve your user experience. For example, a cookie can help the Platform load properly or can customize the display page based on your browser type and user preferences.
- Web Beacons. Pages of the Platform and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related Platform statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain Platform content and verifying system and server integrity). This information is used to improve the Platform.
- Do Not Track. Currently the Platform responds to the “Do Not Track” features enabled through your device.
The information we collect automatically is statistical information that includes Personal Information. We may maintain it or associate it with Personal Information we collect in other ways, that you provide to us, or receive from third parties. This usage information helps us to improve our Platform and to deliver a more personalized service, including by helping us to:
- estimate our audience size and usage patterns;
- store information about your preferences and customize our Platform according to your individual interests;
- speed up your searches; and
- recognize you when you use the Platform.
You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To learn how you can manage your Flash cookie settings, visit the Flash player settings page on Adobe's website. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Platform may not be accessible or may not function properly. For example, opting out of the Platform’s collection of location information will cause its location-based features to be disabled.
Third Party Information Collection
When you use the Platform or its content, certain third parties collect information about you or your device. These third parties may include:
- Satellite navigation software companies, such as Waze Mobile Ltd., that support the Global Positioning System (GPS).
- Your mobile device manufacturer.
- Your mobile service provider.
These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the Platform. The information they collect may be associated with your Personal Information or they may collect information, including Personal Information, about your online activities over time and across different websites, applications and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with behavioral advertising or other targeted content.
You can opt-out of several third party ad servers’ and networks’ cookies simultaneously by using an opt-out tool created by the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://youradchoices.com/ and/or an opt-out tool created by the Network Advertising Initiative at https://optout.networkadvertising.org/. You can also access the Network Advertising Initiative website to learn more about online behavioral advertising and how to stop websites from placing cookies on your device. Opting out of a network does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising. It does mean that the network from which you opted out will no longer deliver ads tailored to your web preferences and usage patterns.
We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they use them. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.
Use of Personal Information
We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any Personal Information, in the following ways.

Additionally, we use Contact Information, Demographic Information, Identity Information, Vehicle Information, Insurance Information, and Work Permit Information to determine the work eligibility drivers. We do not provide driver this information for targeted advertising nor do we provide it to third parties for our benefit.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose Personal Information that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Notice:
- According to applicable law, to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all ZII’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by ZII about our customers and users is among the assets transferred.
- To third parties to market their products or services to you if you have consented to these disclosures. We contractually require these third parties to keep Personal Information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business, such as analytics and search engine providers that help us optimize and improve our services. We contractually require these third parties to keep Personal Information confidential, use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them, and to process Personal Information following the same standards set out in this Privacy Notice.
- To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.
- To third parties for whom you have provided your authorization or consent to disclosure.
- With your consent.
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, according to applicable law, and including, without limitation, in connection with an investigation, or in response to a subpoena or court order.
- To enforce our rights arising from any contracts between you and us, including the terms of use and for billing and collection.
- If we believe such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of ZII, its customers, the public or others.

If you do not want ZII to share your information with these third parties or directly market to you, you may send an “opt out” request as directed at the end of this Privacy Notice. We do not share your Personal Information with nonaffiliates for their use to direct market to you without your consent.
Transferring your Personal Information
We may transfer Personal Information that we collect or that you provide us to contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support the Platform (such as analytics providers that assist us with Platform improvement and optimization) and who are contractually obligated to keep Personal Information confidential, to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them, and to process the Personal Information with the same standards set out in this Privacy Notice.
We may process, store, and transfer your Personal Information in and to other countries with different privacy laws that may or may not be as comprehensive as Canadian law. In these circumstances, the governments, courts, law enforcement, or regulatory agencies of that country may be able to obtain access to your Personal Information. Whenever we engage a service provider, we require that its privacy and security standards comply with this Privacy Notice and applicable Canadian laws.
Security of Your Information
The security of your Personal Information is very important to us. We use physical, electronic, and administrative measures designed to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. We use encryption to protect Personal Information and we store all information you provide to us behind firewalls on our secure servers. Any payment transactions are encrypted using SSL technology. To maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal information, personal information is only shared with employees on a 'need-to-know' basis.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Platform, you are responsible for keeping it confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted through the Platform. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any Platform privacy settings or security measures.
Data Retention
Except as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or regulation, we will only retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Under some circumstances we may anonymize or aggregate your Personal Information so that it can no longer be associated with you. We reserve the right to use such anonymous and de-identified data for any legitimate business purpose without further notice to you or your consent.
Children Under the Age of 18
Our Platform is not intended for children under 18 years of age. No one under age 18 may provide any information to or on the Platform. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on this Platform or on or through any of its features/register on the Platform, make any purchases through the Platform, use any of the interactive or public comment features of this Platform, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 18, please contact us.
Consumer Rights
It is important that the Personal Information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your Personal Information changes. By law, depending on jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Review your Personal Information
- Correct inaccurate Personal Information
- Withdraw your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Information
- Direct us to delete your Personal Information
- Request your Personal Information in a Portable Data Format
- Limit the processing of your sensitive Personal Information
- Opt-out of targeted advertising
- Opt-out of the sale of your Personal Information
- Appeal a decision made by us concerning your exercise of these rights
You can review and change your Personal Information by logging into the Platform and visiting your account profile page.
If you want to exercise any consumer right regarding your Personal Information you may contact us. We cannot delete your Personal Information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. We may charge you a fee to access your Personal Information, however, we will notify you of any fee in advance.
We may confirm your identity or verify the authority of an individual you authorize to exercise your rights by comparing data collected from internal and external sources, and documents you provide. Applicable law may allow or require us to refuse to provide you with access to some or all of the Personal Information that we hold about you, or we may have destroyed, erased, or made your Personal Information anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices. If we cannot provide you with access to your Personal Information, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.
We will provide access to your Personal Information, subject to exceptions set out in applicable privacy legislation. Examples of such exceptions include:
- Information protected by attorney-client privilege.
- Information that is part of a formal dispute resolution process.
- Information that is about another individual that would reveal their Personal Information or confidential commercial information.
- Information that is prohibitively expensive to provide.

If you delete your User Content from the Platform, copies of your User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other Platform users. Proper access and use of information provided on the Platform, including User Content, is governed by our terms of use.
Changes to our Privacy Policy
By submitting Personal Information to us, you consent to the collection and use of the information in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We may change this Privacy Notice at any time. The Privacy Notice’s effective date will show the last date changes were made. You are responsible for periodically visiting this privacy notice to check for any changes. If you provide information to us following any change of the Privacy Notice, that signifies your assent to and acceptance of the changes to the Privacy Notice.
